Nordicom launches a new newsletter. Nordic Media Policy, compiled and edited by Tobias Lindberg, researcher at Nordicom, will be published five to six times a year in complement to the European Media Policy newsletter.

Nordicom has today published the first issue of a new newsletter, Nordic Media Policy. The newsletter will follow the changes taking place in the Nordic media landscape, from a media policy perspective. The newsletter is compiled and edited by Tobias Lindberg, researcher at Nordicom.

The newsletter will provide a comprehensive update on policy developments in both the individual Nordic countries and at the Nordic level. It will assemble current issues and trends in media policy, new proposals for national legislation, debates in the Nordic parliaments, recently taken or impending policy decisions and reactions among those concerned, new support programmes as well as new government reports, white papers, and so on.

“Our ambition is to follow the political decisions via ministries and authorities, but also the most interesting debates, for example, those carried out in Nordic industry media and the largest daily newspapers”, Lindberg states.

The Nordic Media Policy newsletter – to be published five or six times per year – will complement the European Media Policy newsletter, also published by Nordicom. European Media Policy has traditionally been published two to three times a year, but now the two newsletters will alternate months. So those interested in media policy at both the Nordic and European levels will have a regular stream of updates.

As a brand new newsletter, it’s scope and content can benefit from community involvement early on. If you have tips on interesting and important events or developments that should be addressed in this context, then please contact Tobias at tobias.lindberg@nordicom.gu.se.

Nordic Media Policy is published as a part of Nordicom’s strategic partnership with the Nordic Council of Ministers.
