In the wake of the global #metoo movement that swept across the world in 2017 and onwards, there has been a rapid shift in public conversations around gender inequality in the Nordic countries. A new issue of Nordic Journal of Media Studies, published by Nordicom, aims to update insights on key issues in the field, focusing on how media and gender connect with current changes in politics, culture, and technology.
The editors, Tina Askanius, Jill Walker Rettberg, and Eli Skogerbø explain that with this issue, they wanted to bring into light new ideas, discussions, concepts, and methods emerging in studies at the intersection of media and gender in the Nordic countries.
“The articles included in this issue cover a broad range of empirical and conceptual contributions reflecting both longstanding issues and emerging trends in the discussion on media and gender”, say the editors.
