Nordicom aims to publish new, high-quality media research with relevance for the Nordic region. Our line of publications includes monographs, edited anthologies, and two peer reviewed scientific journals, Nordicom Review and Nordic Journal of Media Studies. Our academic publishing is funded with support from the Nordic Council of Ministers.

Our academic publishing

All our books and journals are published with digital Open Access, without publication fees or article processing charges, and under a Creative Commons (CC) licence. Our publishing activities are operated by an in-house editorial team.

About our journals

Nordicom publishes two digital-only journals, Nordicom Review (1980–) and Nordic Journal of Media Studies (2019–). Both journals are directed towards the international research community and adhere to a double-blind peer review policy.

Nordicom Review and Nordic Journal of Media Studies are published Open Access with no registration requirement on the Sciendo publishing platform.

About our books

Nordicom publishes monographs and edited anthologies. All of our academic books are published with digital Open Access on the NordPub publishing platform, which is operated by the Nordic Council of Ministers. Print copies can be ordered in our print-on-demand webshop. We publish books in English and Swedish.
