International sources
- Digital News Report
The Digital News Report is an annual international study on digital news habits conducted by the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism at the University of Oxford. - International Telecommunication Union (ITU)
The ITU is the UN’s specialised agency for digital technologies. They provide international data and reports on Internet access and digital infrastructure, including country-specific reports. - Pew Research Center – News Habits and Media
The American research centre Pew Research Center conducts studies on news and media habits, primarily in the United States. - World Press Freedom Index
The World Press Freedom Index is an annual global index of press freedom, published by the non-profit organisation Reporters Without Borders. - International Program for the Development of Communication (IPDC)
The IPDC is UNESCO’s special forum for strengthening media development and media diversity. They document and analyse media development at a global level. - Varieties of Democracy (V-Dem) Institute
The V-Dem Institute at the University of Gothenburg collects and compiles data on democratic development – including freedom of expression and press – across countries worldwide. The results are presented in datasets, reports, and comparative indices.

- Eurobarometer
Eurobarometer is the EU’s official survey of attitudes and habits among EU citizens. The survey regularly includes questions concerning media use and trust in the media in EU member states. - Euromedia Ownership Monitor
The Euromedia Ownership Monitor is an EU-funded research project that maps the control and ownership of the dominant news media in EU member states. The results are presented as searchable databases and national reports. - European Audiovisual Observatory (EAO)
The EAO is a Council of Europe body that collects and disseminates information about the European audiovisual sector, including film, television, and on-demand services. - Eurostat – Digital economy and society
Eurostat is the EU’s official statistical office providing national data from member states. Its database includes statistics on, among other things, digitalisation and Internet usage. - Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI)
DESI is the EU’s programme for monitoring and documenting digital development in member states based on a range of indicators. The results are presented through interactive statistics and reports.
