Sources of news in the Nordic countries, in Europe and a selection of non-European countries 2023

Data are from the annual Digital News Report, published by the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism, edition 2023. The research was conducted by YouGov, using an online questionnaire at the end of January/beginning of February 2023. Important to note is that because this survey deals with news consumption, anyone indicating they had not consumed any news during the past month was filtered out. Moreover, online samples will tend to under-represent the news consumption habits of people who are older and less affluent. In this sense, it is better to think of results as representative of the online population. In markets in Northern and Western Europe, where internet penetration is high, the differences between the online population and national population will be small.
