The Institute for Media Studies

A civil society association devoted to promote a discussion on how the media copes with its task of investigating those in power and describing the reality surrounding us. It funds original research and spreads knowledge of existing results and acts as a forum for discussions on the role of media in society. The reports are available free of charge as pdf. The Swedish Internet Foundation

The Swedish Internet Foundation [Internetstiftelsen]  publishes the annual survey about Swedes and the Internet (Svenskarna och internet), including a summary in English. On its website, the foundation also presents statistics and reports from independent producers of internet statistics, e.g. Nordicom, Statistics Sweden (SCB), and the Swedish Post and Telecom Agency PTS, and a number of user guides.

The Swedish Internet Foundation is an independent organization for the benefit of the public that promotes the positive development of the internet in Sweden, and is responsible for the internet's Swedish top-level domain. The foundation publishes insights, tutorials and reports on several aspects related to the internet.

IRM – Institutet för Reklam- och Mediestatistik

Institute for Advertising and Media Statistics

The IRM Institute for Advertising and Media Statistics collects, analyzes and publishes data about the advertising and media markets in the Nordic region. Reports covering the Nordic countries are in English, while country reports for the Swedish market and Norwegian market, respectively, are in national languages. IRM also offers international advertising reports. The reports are for sale only.

ITU – International Telecommunication Union

An international organisation within the United Nations System through which governments and the private sector coordinate global telecom networks and services. Provides ICT and telecom statistics and publications.

IVF – International Video Federation

The IVF's primary focus is on European regulatory and commercial issues relevant to the video industry. The site provides information on the European video market in cooperation with Screen Digest.

Kansallinen audiovisuaalinen instituutti (KAVI)

The National Audiovisual Institute

Subordinate body to the Ministry of Education and Culture. It maintains and develops an online classification system for audiovisual programs, supervises operations of the independent classifiers and keeps a registry of all the classifiers. The centre also informs about children and young people's media use.

Kantar Emor

Marketing research and consulting in Estonia. Conducts media audience surveys (TV-meter, radio, readership, Internet). Offers pan-Baltic surveys in cooperation with TNS-partners in Latvia and Lithuania. (Website in Estonian only)

Kantar Sifo

Kantar Sifo conducts periodic surveys of the radio audience in Sweden and publishes general survey data online. Kantar Sifo also publishes statistics on newspaper and periodical reading in ORVESTO. The statistics include principal titles only, general data published online. Kantar Sifo also conducts surveys on other media such as tv and internet as well as audits the advertising market. Kantar TNS Finland - TNS Metrix

Previously TNS Gallup Finland.  Conducts periodic surveys and presents statistics on media consumption and media habits in Finland. This site presents data on internet traffic from TNS Market Metrix.

Kantar TNS Norge

Kantar TNS Norway

Previously TNS Gallup Norway. Data on media penetration and consumption in Norway. Responsible for the Norwegian TV meter survey and newspaper readership. Data on daily coverage for national media groups (survey Forbruker & Media) and Internet traffic data (number of users per website, sessions, etc.). Kantar TNS was responsible for the official radio listening data until 2019, when Nielsen Media Research took over.

KIA – Kommittén för Internet Annonsering

Branch committee whose objective is to reach a common standard for measuring advertising on the Internet. KIA Index presents weekly internet traffic data. (The website is in Swedish only)
