Världens största mediebolag 2015

Comcast, Google och Disney är världens största mediebolag. Det visar en topp-65-lista från forskningsinstitutet Institut für Medien- und Kommunikationspolitik. Svenska Bonnier är det enda nordiska medieföretag som kvalar in och är på plats 57.

On 2-4 May, World Press Freedom Day 2015 - one of the largest events in the world coordinated by UNESCO -  take place in Riga. This Day was officially proclaimed by the UN General Assembly in 1993 and since then has taken place every year in a different country of the world.

UNESCO launches new report in Internet freedom series

Fostering Freedom Online: the Role of Internet Intermediaries  focuses on Internet service providers, search engines and social networking platforms. It examines how this recent phenomenon of Internet intermediaries impacts on freedom of expression and associated fundamental rights such as privacy.

New Wars, New Media and New War Journalism

In this book, the authors discuss media coverage of major conflicts, from the Gulf War in 1990/91  to the NATO military operations in Libya in 2011 and the now ongoing civil war in Syria. Through in-depth analysis of Norwegian and Swedish media coverage of the Kosovo conflict in 1999, the Afghanistan War from 2001, the Iraq War from 2003 as well as more recent conflicts, the authors claim that legal issues are poorly covered in the running news coverage of major conflicts.
