The Online Media Freedom Resource Centre is an open platform that provides information related to media freedom and pluralism in Europe. It was developed by the European Centre for Press and Media Freedom (ECPMF) and Osservatorio Balcani e Caucaso Transeuropa (OBCT).

Update of AVMSD: Role of National Regulators Contentious Issue

During the autumn the new rules for audiovisual media services proposed in May by the EU Commission were debated in the Council and the European Parliament’s Culture Committee. The role of national regulators, advertising rules and the new “quotas” for European works in on-demand services seem to be tricky issues. A new Eurobarometer survey shows how 15- to 45-year-olds use the Internet to access media content. Finland, Denmark and Sweden top the league in using professional streaming services to access music, films and TV series online. Finland and Sweden also rank high in reading digital news via newspaper websites or apps.
