International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY)
The International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) is a non-profit organization which represents an international network of people from all over the world who are committed to bringing books and children together.
As a non-governmental organization with an official status in UNESCO and UNICEF, IBBY has a policy-making role as an advocate of children's books. IBBY is committed to the principles of the International Convention on the Rights of the Child, ratified by the United Nations in 1990. One of its main proclamations is the right of the child to a general education and to direct access to information. Thanks to IBBY's insistence, the resolution includes an appeal to all nations to promote the production and distribution of children's books. (2017-03-24)
International Centre of Films for Children and Youth (CIFEJ)
The International Centre of Films for Children and Young People (CIFEJ) is an international non-governmental organization emerging from the conference held by UNESCO in Edinburg in 1955 and is known as «Centre International de Film pour l'enfance et la Jeunesse-CIFEJ». CIFEJ was founded under the auspices of UNESCO in order to promote excellence in the production of culturally diverse, entertaining, artistic, educational and informative audio-visual media especially designed for children and young people. International Society for the Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN)
ISPCAN's mission is to prevent cruelty to children in every nation, in every form: physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, street children, child fatalities, child prostitution, children of war, emotional abuse and child labor. ISPCAN is committed to increasing public awareness of all forms of violence against children, developing activities to prevent such violence, and promoting the rights of children in all regions of the world. Internationale Zentralinstitut für das Jugend- und Bildungsfernsehen (IZI)
The Internationales Zentralinstitut für das Jugend- und Bildungsfernsehen (IZI), is a department of the Bavarian Broadcasting Corporation. The IZI wants to contribute to the understanding of the cultural meaning of television for children and young people and of the ways that television is embedded in the children's and young people's lives. In addition to that the IZI aims at contributing to the discussion of broadcasters' public service task and its current realisation as well as the social responsibility of the media in general.
The IZI conducts empirical research with regard to current programme formats and current issues in the field of children, youth and educational television. The IZI also documents the current state of research on children’s, youth and educational television. Scientific literature and other substantive information is indexed and made accessible through the bilingual Internet database. (2014-01-08)
Jesuit Communication Project
Media Education is concerned with "helping students develop an informed and critical understanding of the nature of the mass media, the techniques used by them, and the impact of these techniques" (Ontario Media Literacy Resources Guide, 1989). To be media literate is to watch carefully and to think critically about any media text.
The Jesuit Communication Project (JCP) is working in response to this call by providing a variety of resources and services for teachers, parents, church groups, school boards, students, and other interested groups. JFF was established in 1949 and is engaged in research and applied educational studies in connection with the media and in particular its reception by children and adolescents.The main points of focus of the JFF are: media research, practical work with the media, archiving and providingeducational advice and service.
Just Think Foundation
The Just Think Foundation exists to stimulate critical thinking about popular media. Just Think strives to equip young people with the literacy tools critical for their future. These tools include the ability to comprehend the content of media and master the technical skills to produce media messages in various forms, from broadcast public service announcements to websites. Just Think is based on the belief that a better understanding of the media surrounding us facilitates a better understanding of the society in which we live.
The "Kidlink Project" is run by Kidlink Association. The purpose of the Association is to promote a global dialogue among the youth of the world. The Association emphasizes electronic telecommunications, but also supports communications in other forms and media. The Association works to achieve its objectives through several educational projects belonging to the "The Kidlink Project". The projects are created and developed through an international collaboration of volunteers and are offered to schools, organizations and youth around the world for free. (2014-01-08)

KQED Education Network
KQED serves the people of Northern California with a community-supported alternative to commercial media. Education is central to the mandate of public media. KQED Education fulfills this mandate by engaging educators in schools, colleges, universities, and informal learning environments and supporting their utilization of PBS and KQED content as a learning tool
Landesanstalt für Medien Nordrhein-Westfalen (LfM)
North Rhine-Westphalia - with 18 million inhabitants - is one of the biggest federal states (Länder) in Germany. The LfM is the Media Authority, independent from the government. Among the duties of the LfM are:
to promote media literacy,
to issue licences for private radio and television broadcasters (allowing privately owned radio and television companies to broadcast in NRW)
to regulate distribution of radio and television channels on the North Rhine-Westphalian cable networks
to monitor the programming of private broadcasters, to guarantee freedom of speech and to control the protection of minors and advertising regulations
to commission media research projects
The Media Authority gives students, trainees and interested citizens in North Rhine-Westphalis the opportunity to produce television programs themselves through its training and experimental television pilot project. Guided by the objective to promote the exercise of the right to communication and participation from childhood and youth, Las Otras Voces (The Other Voices) is a nonprofit association. Coming from education, journalism and politics, for more than two decades those who make Las Otras Voces care for the problems of children and youth linked to communication and education.
Our Mission: To strengthen the participation of children and young people in the processes of communication and decision-making.

Lebanese Non-Governmental Organization Forum (LNF)
The Lebanese Forum of NGOs, an umbrella association composed of ten non-governmental organisations distributed through out the Lebanese territory, has set a permanent monitoring mechanism entitled Child's Rights Monitor. This Project aims at helping NGOs monitor children's rights and implement the Convention on the Rights of the Child in Lebanon by establishing a platform for coordination at the national and regional levels. Media Monitoring Project
Media Monitoring Africa (formerly Media Monitoring Project) is a non-profit organisation that promotes democracy and a culture where media and the poweful respect human rights and encourage a just and fair society. MMA acts in a watchdog role to promote ethical and fair journalism that supports human rights. The MEDIA Salles project operates within the framework of the European Union's MEDIA II Programme, with the support of the Italian Government. The project's brief is to promote cinema exhibition in Europe, and in that field MEDIA Salles has gathered a vast fund of know-how and expertise, placed at the service of both cinema audiences and industry professionals.
