Increasing more and increasingly younger children have access to their own mobile phone, and among ten-year-olds almost everyone owns a smartphone. Around half of young people between nine and 18 years of age use their mobile phone for two hours or more daily – too much, according many of them.

A new journal, the Nordic Journal of Media Studies, has been added to Nordicom’s portfolio of scientific publications. This journal is an online, open-access journal.  The first issue will be published in Spring 2019, with the theme “Disrupting media infrastructures: Transforming media industries and public spheres”.
