Media Salles

The MEDIA Salles project operates within the framework of the European Union's MEDIA II Programme, with the support of the Italian Government. The project's brief is to promote cinema exhibition in Europe, and in that field MEDIA Salles has gathered a vast fund of know-how and expertise, placed at the service of both cinema audiences and industry professionals. The end objective of MEDIA Salles is to foster theatrical distribution of European audiovisual products. (2017-03-23)

MediaSmarts (ex Media Awareness Network)

MediaSmarts is a Canadian not-for-profit charitable organization for digital and media literacy. Our vision is that children and youth have the critical thinking skills to engage with media as active and informed digital citizens.MediaSmarts (formerly known as Media Awareness Network) came out of a TV violence initiative launched by the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) in the early 1990s.MediaSmarts has been developing digital and media literacy programs and resources for Canadian homes, schools and communities since 1996. Through our work we support adults with information and tools so they can help children and teens develop the critical thinking skills they need for interacting with the media they love.

MediaWise Trust

The MediaWise Trust – formerly PressWise - exists to:

Medierådet for Børn og Unge (Media Council for Children and Young People)

The National Film Censorship Board was abolished and substituted with The Media Council for Children and Young People May 1997. The Media Council gives information and guidelines a top priority and co-operate with other institutions with similar purposes to pass on information to teachers, users, and parents about suitable films for children and about the importance of raising awareness and of the education of users.

Medietilsynet (Norwegian Media Authority)

The Norwegian Media Authority is an independent source of information and advice in the field of media politics and regulations contributing to the enforcement of the government’s main goals in media politics. Hence the Norwegian Media Authority works to ensure that everyone has access to a diversity of television, radio and newspapers across the country. Metka - Centre for Media Education

Metka - Centre for Media Education is the leading practical and pedagogical media education body on national level in Finland. Metka’s mandate is to provide learning materials, workshops supporting multi literacy, and connected learning as well as complimentary training for teachers, librerians and other professionals working with children and youth. The non-profit organization has been founded in 1958 for Film and TV education and is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Education. Metka reaches 12 000 to 16 000 children and youth and 1500 adults yearly with the trainings and digital materials.
