Australian Children’s Television Foundation (ACTF)
The ACTF is a national children’s media production and policy hub. We help develop children’s television policy; distribute and invest in Australian children’s television series; support new, innovative and entertaining children’s media; and develop valuable screen resources for the education sector.
The ACTF will continually raise the stakes in children’s media production, driving higher standards of creativity and innovation, based on the assumption that we should never underestimate children’s desire to be informed and challenged as well as entertained. (2013-12-16)
Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA)
The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) is responsible for the regulation of broadcasting, radiocommunications, telecommunications and online content. ACMA's responsibilities include: - promoting self-regulation and competition in the telecommunication industry, while protecting consumers and other users, - fostering an environment in which electronic media respect community standards and responds to audience and user needs, - managing access to the radiofrequency spectrum, including the broadcasting services bands, - representing Australia's communications and broadcasting interests internationally.
Australian Council on Children and the Media, ACCM
The Australian Council on Children and the Media (formerly Young Media Australia) supports families, industry and decision makers in building and maintaining a media environment that fosters the health, safety and wellbeing of Australian children. We are committed to promoting better choices and providing stronger voices in children's media.
The Australian Council on Children and the Media is a unique national community organisation whose members share a strong commitment to the promotion of the healthy development of Australian children. Their particular interest and expertise is in the role that media experiences play in that development.
The Australian Council on Children and the Media is structured as a not for profit company limited by guarantee with a national Board representative of major child focussed organisations in Australia.
ACCM is recognised as the peak body for children’s rights to live in a media environment that supports their healthy development, expands their horizons and provides them with pleasure. (2013-12-16)

British Film Institute (BFI)
The BFI was founded in 1933. BFI is a charity governed by a Royal Charter. We combine cultural, creative and industrial roles, bringing together the BFI National Archive and BFI Reuben Library, film distribution, exhibition and education at BFI Southbank and BFI IMAX, publishing and festivals.
We award Lottery funding to film production, distribution, education, audience development and market intelligence and research.
We help people of all ages to understand and enjoy film through events and courses at BFI Southbank, teaching resources and research and advocacy work. (2014-01-31)
Cable in the Classroom
Cable in the Classroom (CIC) promotes the visionary, sensible, responsible and effective use of cable’s broadband technology, services, and content in teaching and learning. CIC also advocates digital citizenship and supports the complimentary provision, by cable industry companies, of broadband and multichannel video services and educational content to the nation’s schools. Canadian Association of Media Education Organizations (CAMEO)
Founded in 1992, the Canadian Association Of Media Education Organizations (CAMEO) is an association of Canadian media literacy groups from across Canada. The goal of CAMEO, through its member organizations, is to advocate, promote and develop media literacy in Canada. A media literate person is one who has an informed and critical understanding of the nature, techniques and impact of the mass media as well as the ability to produce media products. The current president of CAMEO is John J. Pungente, SJ, Executive Director of the Jesuit Communication Project in Toronto.
Canadian Broadcast Standards Council (CBSC)
The Canadian Broadcast Standards Council (CBSC) is an independent, non-governmental organization created by the Canadian Association of Broadcasters (CAB) to administer standards established by its members, Canada's private broadcasters. The Council's membership includes more than 790 private sector radio and television stations, specialty services and networks from across Canada, programming in English, French and third languages.
Canadians Concerned About Violence in Entertainment (C-Cave)
Canadians Concerned About Violence in Entertainment (C-CAVE) is an independent national non-profit public interest organization. It is committed to increasing public awareness about the effects of cultural violence on society. C-CAVE is financially self-supporting through annual membership dues and personal donations with members that represent a cross-section of occupations and lifestyles. i.e. educators, health professionals, members of the media, religious groups and parents. Center for Children and Technology (CCT)
At EDC's Center for Children and Technology, we investigate the roles that technology can play in improving teaching and learning within children's classrooms, schools and communities. We also design and develop technology applications that support engaged, active learning and student-centered teaching practices. Our work seeks to inform stakeholders at across the educational system and shape programs and polices at the local, regional and national levels.
Center for Communication and Social Policy
The Center for Communication and Social Policy (Department of Communication at University of California, Santa Barbara) was established to support research in the areas of media and public policy, such as projects on the internet, media censorship, rating systems for media content, and educational programming.
The Media Neuroscience Lab, located at the same department, promotes research and teaching at the intersection of communication, technology, and neuroscience, and is open to all scientific research traditions. The Lab encourages collaboration among communication scholars, media professionals, and cognitive neuroscientists to build a rich understanding of shared research questions and methods. (2013-12-18)
Center for Digital Youth Care
Since 2004, Centre for Digital Youth Care has worked to create, provide and guarantee professional help through digital media for vulnerable young people. Our focal point is our online youth counseling Cyberhus.dk which implements approx. 8000 consultative interactions with young people each year. The Center for Media Literacy (CML) is an educational organization that provides leadership, public education, professional development and educational resources nationally and internationally. Dedicated to promoting and supporting media literacy education as a framework for accessing, analyzing, evaluating, creating and participating with media content, CML works to help citizens, especially the young, develop critical thinking and media production skills needed to live fully in the 21st century media culture. Center for Successful Parenting
The Center for Successful Parenting was created in 1997 to make available to all, the extensive research on the adverse effects media violence has on the nation's juvenile population.The Center has three goals: We want to make all parents and grandparents in America aware of the significant problem that media violence has become for our nation's children. We want to convince parents and grandparents that media violence is a huge and growing problem that must be addressed now! We want to help parents counteract the effects of media violence on their children. Our nation's children should be able to live happy, secure, safe lives free from worry about violence.
Center for the Digital Future
The Center for the Digital Future is a research and policy institute and a part of the USC Annenberg School for Communication. The mission is to understand and predict the impact of technological devices and platforms on human interaction and consumer behavior.
From inception, The Center for the Digital Future has conducted trailblazing research into areas of significant importance for digital technologies. From original research studies monitoring television violence, the Center pioneered a new research methodology that sought answers beyond the numbers to underscore the true significance of new trends in developments. By the qualitatively assessing acts of violence depicted on television rather than simply tracking the number of violent incidents, the Center developed at a more nuanced and meaningful understanding of the worrisome trend.
Beginning in 2000, the Center has also conducted the largest and longest-running longitudinal study on Internet use and digital adoption. The Center also oversees the World Internet Project, tracking 87 subject areas of digital significance across five continents. (2013-12-17)

Centre de Liaison de l'Enseignement et des Moyens d'Information (CLEMI)
The Clemi (centre for liaison between teaching and information media) is part of the French Ministry of Education. It was created in 1983 with the mission of "promoting especially by means of training activities, the multiple use of news media in teaching with the aim of encouraging a better understanding of the world by pupils while simultaneously developing critical understanding." (Decree of April 1993).
To achieve this mission, the Clemi offers training sessions, educational programmes and events, opportunities of exchange and networking, and pedagogical publications.(2013-12-17)
