Nordic Council Children and Young People’s Literature Prize

The national members of the Adjudication Committee for the Nordic Council Children and Young People’s Literature Prize have nominated the following works for 2015 Children and Young People’s Literature Prize.

The Nordic Council Children and Young People’s Literature Prize was awarded for the first time during the Nordic Council Session in 2013 together with the other Nordic Council prizes. The award is the result of the Nordic Culture Ministers long-standing desire to strengthen and elevate literature for children and young people in the Region.

The nominated are:

Denmark

Notes, poetry, and script illustrations
Jesper Wung-Sung: Ud med Knud

The Sami language area
Veikko Holmberg and Sissel Horndal (ill.): Durrebjørnen og skuterløypa

Finland
Maria Turtschaninoff: Maresi. Krönikor från Röda klostret
Marjatta Levanto and Julia Vuori (ill.): Leonardo oikealta vasemmalle

Faroe Islands
Elin á Rógvi and Marjun Reginsdóttir (ill.): Og mamma!

Greenland
Naja Rosing-Asvid: Aqipi – til sommerfest

Iceland
Þórarinn Leifsson: Maðurinn sem hataði börn

The winner will be selected by the Adjudication Committee of the Nordic Council Children and Young People’s Literature Prize and published during the Nordic Council Prize Award Ceremony in Reykjavik on 27 October.
